Down with Consumerism

Or rather, do a survey and record in a notebook or in your mobile phone how often you opened your wallet throughout the day to buy something. What was really relevant and necessary? After making your list you will be surprised both in relation to the size of it as well as in the case of items you bought that were not as essential as they seemed to be...
The consumerism is a disease that hits more and more people every day and which, unlike other addictions, is not publicized or treated as such by agents of public health [if that happened it would affect the business of many people and powerful companies...].
Results of consumerism: According to data published recently by the media, we currently consume 30% more than our own planet can produce, and this pace, we will "devour" Earth in the next generation... Another finding, the number of north americans who spent more than they can get and find themselves on debts on their credit cards is very high and this practice until recently and was encouraged by companies, banks and even the Bush administration [thank God this U.S. president is already leaving government, because his mandate was a real disaster] – by the way this even explains how the world crisis we are living today began, setting its origins among the real estate market, in which people were encouraged to buy real state that were much more expensive than they could pay ...
In the next November 29, be a part of a protest against consumerism, organized worldwide, that will reach 65 countries. Leave your credit card, check and money at home rather than spend. This practice began in 1992 and turned out to be known as the Buy Nothing Day. Either way, it is important that people become attentive to how and when they spend their money and consume, so that it turn out to be a more intelligent act.
